Finally, a spinning reel built to last a lifetime and uniquely designed to provide longer casts and prevent tangles to help you catch more fish. It's the Original! The Sharkfin is patented in more than 40 countries including the U.S. and has more than a quarter-million users worldwide since 2004. The Sharkfin is new to the U.S. marketplace and is guide-proven tough for daily use in fresh or saltwater, using mono or braided lines.

|
The Sharkfin "fins" are tapered underneath much like the wing of an airplane. So as the line exits the spool during the cast there is the least amount of friction on the line as possible. Line exiting the Sharkfin spool during casting is near silent - while on a standard round spool you will hear the definite sound of friction.

The Original, the Sharkfin Patent by Guenther Burk is the World's first of its kind, providing farther casts AND preventing tangles on spinning reels, with a worldwide PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) pre-dating any similar products' patent documents by 20 months - as documented by the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).
The Sharkfin has received patents throughout Europe (35 countries), North America, Korea, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Its distribution today includes Germany, Belgium, Poland, Italy, France, Norway, South Africa, the Netherlands and now North and South America.

Whether you're casting far to reach that elusive snook in skinny water or reaching a school of freshwater baitfish, the Sharkfin gets you to that sweet spot to catch more fish!
The Sharkfin's patented spool face is designed to allow you to cast farther, reduce line stress, and prevent tangles. Less time dealing with these common spinning reel issues equals more time catching fish!

How The Sharkfin Casts Farther
As fishing line quickly exits a typical round spool, it naturally maintains contact with the spool’s edge for most of the cast. When the line leaves the Sharkfin spool it touches only the tip of each “fin,” greatly reducing friction. With less line friction you’ll enjoy longer more accurate casts.
Why The Sharkfin Reduces Line Wear
Friction during casting heats and degrades fishing line as it quickly exits the typical round spool. With the Sharkfin spool design, line friction and heat are greatly reduced, thus minimizing line stress on every cast. Over time, you'll realize that your line is lasting longer and staying fresh.
How The Sharkfin Eliminates Tangles
Problem: During the retrieve on traditional spinning reels, loops are inevitably formed when small increments of slack line are reeled onto the spool. With a standard round spool, these loops often crawl together forming a twisted loop that protrudes beyond the spool's lip. During the next cast, a high-speed, high-energy line is pulled tightly against the spool lip, engaging this protruding loop and snatching it and all the line spooled on top of this loop off in the form of a “birdnest."
Solution: With the Sharkfin, when slack line is inadvertently wound onto the spool, it is retained by the fins, often resulting in the line skipping one or two of the fins along the face of the spool. This "catch" eliminates any twist or looping of slack line, and this excess line is freely released on the next cast without incident.

The Sharkfin requires no special instruction, operates much like a standard spinning reel.
Engineered in Germany, patented worldwide, the Sharkfin has all the uncompromising performance features fishing guides look for in a reel to be used (and abused) daily - that's why the Sharkfin has been "certified tough" by many professional anglers and the reels carry a two-year warranty from date of purchase. The Sharkfin is used like any standard spool, is braid-friendly, and works with all reel-recommended line diameters.
Benefits:
• Longer, more precise casts
• Engineered to eliminate tangles (birdnests)
• Reduces line stress
• Braid-friendly
• Spooling line indicators for easy line spooling
• Works with all reel-recommended line diameters
